Las Vegas Housing Market: Short Sale or Bust

When the hous­ing bub­ble burst in the United States, the eco­nomic fall out was awful across the nation.  Many peo­ple lost every­thing; oth­ers watched the biggest invest­ment of their lives turn to dust.  As dev­as­tat­ing as it all has been, many com­mu­ni­ties can not com­pre­hend the melt­down of the Las Vegas hous­ing market.

Any­one who surfs the net on a reg­u­lar basis sees list after list with titles such as: “Top 10 Hard­est Hit Cities” & “Top 20 Cities Look­ing to Recover,” all in regards to sub­jects from hous­ing, finances, unem­ploy­ment, and a myr­iad of other neg­a­tive sit­u­a­tions affect­ing Amer­i­cans.  Although you don’t often see Las Vegas on these lists, I’d like to explain what is really going on here.
